100.4 So raising up, on account of him, clouds of dust.

Summary of 100.4:

• John’s vision of the Demonic Locusts continues by informing us of the star (i.e. angel) that falls to the earth and is given the key to the abyss, in which, he opens the pit

• When the pit is opened, smoke (kapnos) pours forth

• And out of the smoke comes forth the Demonic Locusts

• The authority of the Demonic Locusts is to torture man (basanizo)

• 100.4, just like 100.2 & 100.3 before it, also begins with the copulative particle “fa”, which indicates a close connection between the sentences before and after it; signifying either definite cause and effect or a natural sequence of events

• Juxtaposed to “fa” is “atharna”, which means “raising up”

• The root “thara”, tells us that this “raising up” is “said of dust, and of smoke, and of other things; to rise and spread in the air, be stirred, be kindled, rush on, assault anyone”

• Further, the root “thara” describes the raising as “it rose from the place where it lay; and a swarm of locusts, it rose”

• Thus, there can be no doubt to the linkage of the Demonic Locusts of Revelation, as 100.4 specifically calls-out for locusts rising from the place where they lay (i.e. the abyss)

• In addition, 100.4 is describing the locusts as emanating from smoke, and also to “assault anyone”

• 100.4 also re-enforces the theme of the denseness of the Demonic Locust swarm by utilizing the accusative-case noun “naqAAan”, which means “dust, or clouds of dust”

• Further, 100.4 tells us that all of this is on account of him (bihi)

• Which is a clear reference to the fallen star (i.e. angel) as detailed in Revelation, who opens the abyss with the key

• Reviewing the Koranic description offered to us regarding the Demonic Locusts, as revealed in 100.1 - 100.4, which encompasses both the Fifth and the Sixth trumpet blasts; we have the following parallels to Revelation chapter 9:

1. They were once hidden or concealed

2. They are likened to Horses prepared for war

3. The Horses have riders

4. Adorned with Fire-colored Breastplates

5. Fire issues from their mouths

6. Brimstone issues from their mouths

7. They are like a large army

8. They have female hair

9. They are in likeness to a man

10. They are in likeness to a lion

11. They rise from a pit

12. They rise up out of the smoke

13. They are a swarm of Locusts

14. They have authority to torture man

15. They have been released by the fallen star
