Lesson 6 – Teaching Islam to Boys
Teacher speaking: Children, today we study Marriage in Islam. As we recite the Quran 004:003 fifty times, let us note that the husband must deal justly with all four wives.
Children reciting in unison : If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice.
Teacher speaking: We will divide the class into five groups, and each group will develop a plan on how you as a future husband will deal justly in the sexual relations with your four wives. Your homework assignment is on the blackboard.
The Bicycle Race Plan -- The four wives will race on bicycles for 20 km. The winner will be the wife on night one, the second place finisher on night two, and so on.
Teacher responding: The Bicycle Plan is outstanding.
You should motorcycle alongside to show them your devotion and love. The race will be great a workout for the wives.
The Archery Contest Plan – The wife who makes the highest score shooting a flight of five arrows
will be his mate on night one. The wife with the second highest score will be his mate on night two and so on.
Teacher responding: The Archery Contest is first-class! Lest us not forget that our prophet said, “Wagers are allowed only for racing camels, or horses or shooting arrows.” source
The Lottery Plan -- The husband will pick from a hat a color ball representing one of his wives. That wife will be his mate on night one. The lottery will continue until each wife knows the night to be with her husband.
Teacher responding: The Lottery Plan is thrilling. Our holy Prophet also drew lots to see which wife would be his mate on long journeys.
The Musical Chairs Plan – The four wives will prance around three chairs while the husband recites the Quran. When the husband stops reciting, the wives will immediately sit in an empty chair. The wife left standing will be his mate on night one. The game will continue with three wives and two chairs. The wife left standing will be his mate on night two. The next round of the game will pick his mates for nights three and four.
Teacher responding: The Musical Chairs plan is dazzling.
Listening to the Husband’s recitation of Quran will be exhilarating for the wives.
The Weight Plan – The four wives will be weighed. The heaviest wife will his mate on night one. On night two the second heaviest wife will be his mate and so on.
Teacher responding: The Weight Plan is dynamic.
The weight plan will promote nutrition and moderation among the wives.
Homework Assignment -- Take home the five plans and explain them to your sister (or sisters), Ask your sister which plan does she like best. Ask her if she will demand in her marriage contract that her future husband follow the plan.
