Farsideology: Polygyny
From WikiIslam
Is Polygyny possible in Jannah?
From the Law of Islam: The Risala of 'Abdullah ibn Abi Zayd al-Qayrawani -- A Treatise on Maliki Fiqh with commentary from ath-Thamr ad-Dani by al-Azhari http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/ABewley/Page17.html
21.6 If the dead person is a woman . . . . A man may have many wives in the Garden whereas women only have one husband.
The Dilemma
A woman, let's call her Aisha, marries husband number 1 who dies later from a heart attack.
Aisha marries again, and husband number 2 dies in a war in Iraq.
Aisha marries a third time, and husband number 3 dies from cancer.
In life the three husbands were married only to Aisha.
Hence in Jannah, Aisha will be married to all three men, and the three men will be married only to Aisha - Polygyny.
Solutions
- Marriages number 2 and 3 will not be recognized in Jannah.
- Marriages number 1 and 2 will not be recognized in Jannah.
- Aisha will be required to draw lots to see with whom she will spend eternity.
- Allah will decide.
- Muhammad will decide.
- Aisha will decide. (an impossible solution)
- An obscure Islamic law will be the solution which is solution 2.
Last Question
How many wives does Muhammad have in Jannah? Will Aisha, the mother of Islam, be his only wife in Jannah or will she be only one among thousands?
