[edit] Injeel

You could leave it there in case some people type in Injil in the search box, then they'll be redirected to Injeel. Thanks for working on this page.--Whale 17:25, 2 May 2007 (PDT)

Ah. But the page is spelt "Ingil". I have only ever seen Injeel and Injill before. heh *thinks of all possible spellings* :p Sanitarium 17:29, 2 May 2007 (PDT)
There, I made Injil the primary one then since it showed 340,000 results in Google as compared to 60,000 for Injeel, also it was the one being used in Wikipedial ([1]). thanks! --Whale 17:39, 2 May 2007 (PDT)
I fixed the redirects in other articles also and also took out the title lines in a few as the page title already appears at the top. oops, sorry didnt meant to use your User page for this, I'll move this to the talk. --Whale 17:43, 2 May 2007 (PDT)

[edit] Ibrawa & Injeel (Ibrawa comment here please)

Dear Whale, Dear Sanitarium, I suggest that the right spelling here should be Injeel, for that is closer to the Arabic pronunciation which lays a particular stress on the second syllable (jeel)(in concordance with the stress placed on "gile" in evangile). Spelling it as Injil may lead some to lay the stress on the first syllabble as in "angel". This word Injeel is found in Abdullah Yusuf's translation of the Coran replaced by the word Gospel. Surah III Verses 64 and 65:

64. Say: O people of the Book! Come to commmon terms as between us, That we worship none but God That we associate no partners with Him That we erect not from among ourselves lords and patrons Other than God.

65. Ye People of the Book ! Why dispute ye about Abraham? (reference here is made to the controversy between Jews and Christians then as to whether Abraham was a Jew or a Christian) When the Law and the Gospel(Injeel) were not revealed (in fact) till(well)after him? Have ye no understanding?

Thanks for your thoughts. The page was originally called injeel however it was changed to Injil because it is the spelling of the page over at Wikipedia. We do have a redirect from Injeel to Injil, so if someone types Injeel into the search box (on the left hand side of the page) they will be automatically sent to Injil Go ahead try it out! Thanks Sanitarium 09:30, 24 June 2007 (PDT)

Thanks Sanitarium for putting more information on revelation. With "in which Allah claims" it seemed for me too much a copy from islamic sources. But something that doesn't exist can't off course not claim anything. My point of view. Greet.Robertto 04:30, 1 July 2007 (PDT)
And very good found :"If each Revelation from Allah was a confirmation of the scripture that came before it, what was the Good News that Isa came to share?" Robertto 04:42, 1 July 2007 (PDT)

Thanks for your thoughts Roberto. I agree on the "Allah says this" for the Quran. I do not like to put it there because it is patently obvious that Muhammad made it all up. But I do it for two reasons: (a) The Quran is believed to have been authored by Allah and not Muhammad, (b)Whether we like it or not, Allah is now a seperate entity to Muhammad, whether he exists or not.

Regarding my addition of "What was Isa's 'Good news', it was actually you that put that as a single sentence in one of your edits. I actually had never thought of that before!! So thanks! I just padded it out a bit. Keep up the great work!! Sanitarium 05:08, 1 July 2007 (PDT)
